SEPTEMBER 27
YMCA 50th Anniversary Celebrations, North Bay.
Take a tour of the YMCA from 1 to 3 p.m. Dinner and dancing at the Wall starting at 5:30 p.m. Get your tickets for this great sock hop. A portion of ticket sales goes to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Call 705-497-9622 for tickets.
Fall Small Animal Auction, Powassan.
Receiving starts at 8 a.m., auction starts at 10 a.m. at the fairgrounds. Hosted by the Muskoka-Parry Sound Pigeon and Poultry Association. Call 386-2940 or 386-8095 for more information.
An Evening Of Appreciation, Callander.
Hosted by Mayor Lavigne and councillors Onley, Busch, Brydges and Turgeon. 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Callander Community Centre. Dinner, entertainment and awards presentation.

Horticultural society meeting, Argyle.
7 p.m. at the community centre. This will be an election meeting.

VMUTS Fall Colour Run And Night Rally Ride, Mattawa.

Fall Rummage And Bake Sale, Corbeil.

Downtown Farmers’ Market, North Bay.
Every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine, runs to Oct. 11.

Food Drive, Powassan.
Hosted by Scotiabank. Local fi refi ghters and volunteers will pick up food items doorto-door. You can drop off items to Oshells valumart in Powassan, or the Trout Creek Canada Post.

Spaghetti Dinner, Clear Lake/Bay Lake Hall.

Horticultural Society Meeting, Callander.
7:30 to 10 p.m. in the Community Centre viewing room. Diane Esch to speak on “Go Green - Environmentally Friendly Information.”

Cranberry Festival, Sturgeon Falls.
At the Sturgeon River House Museum. The ninth annual Cranberry Festival runs Oct. 18 and 19. In celebration of the rich history of the cranberry in this region. Guided tours along the nature trails, craft show of local artisans work, live music and more. More information from 705-753-4716.
